Jim Humphrey

Pastor and President of the Board
I did not grow up in a Christian home, in fact, I did not meet the Lord Jesus Christ until I was 30 yrs. old. I came to the Lord in August of 1996 and have been serving the Lord since. I started attending Calvary Chapel in 2005 and I have served in men's ministry, youth ministry, young family ministry, counseling and addiction recovery ministry.
Previously, I was the Youth Pastor and am currently serving as the Pastor and President of the Board.  I am the father of two grown sons, a father-in-law of two beautiful daughters-in-law and Grandpa of four little ones.

My best friend led me to the Lord in 1972 and it's been an E-ticket ride since then.  There have been highs and there have been lows, but Jesus was always there with me.  In the late 70's, my wife Claudia, and our kids, would drive to Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa to attend their Saturday night concerts and we fell in love with the Calvary Chapel movement.  We started attending CCR in 1981 and in 2003 God anointed me as the Associate Pastor.  Over the years, I've been involved with Men's Ministry, Outreach Ministry, Home Groups, Church Administration and the Church Board.

My walk with Jesus began in my early twenties with my wife and I bouncing between several churches as we sought a church home. A co-worker invited me to Calvary Chapel of Ridgecrest where we found the worship and verse-by-verse method of teaching of the Word of God to be an exact fit for what we were seeking. We began regular attendance in 1984 and each of us has served in various ministries over the years. I have been involved in Youth Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Home Groups (home-based Bible studies), Special Events, and a member of the Board of Directors. My personal mission statement is wrought from Colossians 3:23-24 which is my daily motivation: "Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give
you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you
are serving is Christ."  For the Christian, I believe it
is important that we are involved in our communities
so that we might shine Christ’s light to a lost world.

Board Member
In 1987 a job opportunity at China Lake moved me from my childhood hometown in Kansas to Ridgecrest. My childhood family attended church regularly since I was very young but in 1990, I chose to accept Jesus as my Lord. In 1997 Calvary Chapel became my church home. Today, most of my friends are in my church family. My wife Carrie and I met and married in 2002 and we share four grown children. Ephesians 1:13-14 is my favorite Bible passage. My favorite activities are Bible studies, time with family and friends, hiking and mountain biking. My wife and I currently host a Wednesday night Home Fellowship and I am the Church Board Secretary.

I was born and raised in Ridgecrest and am the oldest of twelve siblings. I'm right at home when the church family is fellowshipping loudly after service and there are lots of boisterous kids underfoot. I especially love to see brothers and sisters in Christ serving each other and meeting everyday needs. I have worked in law enforcement since 2007 and have a passion for equipping others for servant leadership both civically and at church. I am deeply committed to the spiritual and physical health of the local community. That commitment begins at home, where my wife Crystal and I are raising our three children.  I was elected to be a Board Member in 2022.

Lurine Norwood

Secretary
Although I did not grow up in a Christian home, I have always believed in God.  In fact one of my earliest memories is kneeling beside my bed to pray every night.  When I was 16 my best friend invited me to go to Church camp. While there I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior.  It was the best day of my life.  I have endeavored to serve Him ever since.  Through the years of ups and downs, He has always been there for me and my family.  It is my greatest gift in life to serve Him. My husband and I along with my daughter, her husband and my two granddaughter ( now grown) have attended Calvary Chapel since 2000

Zach Neeley

Pastoral Intern
Being born and raised in Ridgecrest, I had the blessing of growing up in a Christian home and attending church every week. However, it was not until after I turned 19 that I surrendered my life to Christ while attending Calvary Chapel Ridgecrest. Since 2020 I have had the privilege of attending Calvary Bible Institute, as well as working and serving at Calvary Chapel Moreno Valley, and Mile High Ministries.
I now serve as a Pastoral Intern here at CCR.

Crystal Humphrey

Custodial
I did not grow up in a Christian home, but did go to church with my grandparents when I visited them in Redondo Beach as a child.  I met my husband in 1992 and came to the Lord in 1996 after watching Hell's Flames and Heaven's Gates. I then married my husband and we were both baptized in 1996. I started attending Calvary Chapel in 2005 and working as the Calvary Chapel custodian in 2007. My husband, Jim, and I have raised 2 sons who both served in the military. We have 2 beautiful daughters-in-law and 4 beautiful grand blessings.
